Minecraft: All Nether Biomes

by | Minecraft | 0 comments

In the Nether realm there are 5 exquisite biomes to explore. These biomes provide more diversity within the Nether’s environment.

Each biome has their own unique blocks and specialities so as a Minecraft player it is great to have some wisdom on this topic! Whether you want to know the places to explore or the details from mobs to design, we’ve got you.

List of Nether Biomes

Currently, the Nether has these different biomes to offer:

  • Nether Wastes
  • Crimson Forest
  • Warped Forest
  • Soul Sand Valley
  • Basalt Delta

Nether Wastes

The Nether Wastes are the most well known biome in the Nether. In the Nether Wastes there are typically large oceans of lava and Netherrack everywhere. The Nether Wastes tends to be the “base biome” that connects all the other biomes together.

Nether Fortresses can be found in the Nether Wastes. You can find rare loot by searching a Nether Fortress which is quite exciting!

Vegetation in the Nether Wastes

The Nether Wastes have Brown Mushrooms, Mushrooms (Red with White Spots), & Nether Warts.

Brown Mushrooms can make Mushroom Stew, Rabbit Stew, Suspicious Stew, & Fermented Spider Eye.

Mushrooms (Red with White Spots) can make Mushroom Stew, Rabbit Stew, & Suspicious Stew.

Nether Warts can make Nether Wart Block, Red Nether Brick, Potion of Fire Resistance, Potion of Healing, Potion of Leaping, Potion of Night Vision, Potion of Poison, Potion of Regeneration, Potion of Slow Falling, Potion of Strength, Potion of Swiftness, Potion of the Turtle Master, & Potion of Water Breathing.

Blocks in the Nether Wastes

The Blocks the Nether Wastes Biome has to offer are mostly Netherrack, Nether Quartz Ore, & Glowstone.

Mobs in the Nether Wastes

The Mobs you’ll routinely find in the Nether Wastes are Piglins, Zombified Piglins, Striders, Ghasts & Blazes that spawn near Nether Fortresses.

Crimson Forest

The Crimson Forest Biome has a recognizable Crimson color scheme. Even the fog in this biome has a light crimson hue. The floors are covered all over in Crimson Nylium. Weeping Vines hang from trees and mountains.

Commonly, you will come across the mobs, Zombified Piglins, Piglins, Hoglins, & Striders.

Warped Forest

The Warped Forest biome has a teal-like color scheme. Although the Crimson Forests and Warped Forests have their similarities, their color schemes are completely different. The fog in the Warped forest has a cool blueish tone. Although the Nether may be a scary place for some of us, the Warped Forest is probably the calmest biome with the least mobs.

Previously, the Warped Forest was known as the “Blue Nether Wart Forest”.

Mobs in the Warped Forest

As mentioned earlier the Warped Forest Biome is calm. The only 2 mobs you’ll see in this biome are Endermen and Striders.

Soul Sand Valley

Soul Sand Valleys are covered in dry Soul Sand and Soul Soil. Soul Sand slows characters and mobs down (when walked on) unless you have “Soul Speed” on your boots. Nether Fortresses, Caverns, and Bastions can be found in this biome. Something unique you will find in the Soul Sand Valley is “Soul Fire”. Soul Fire naturally generates and has a peculiar turquoise color. Don’t be too scared of the intimidating turquoise flames, they are just chilling there in peace. On top of all this, you might see some lovely Basalt Pillars that give this biome even more flair.

Mobs in the Soul Sand Valley

Unlike the Warped Forest Biomes, there’s quite a variety of mobs in Soul Sand Valley Biomes. These Mobs are, Skeletons, Ghasts, Endermen, & Striders.

Basalt Delta

Make sure to wear a mask before entering the Basalt Delta Biome because the air is filled with Ashy Smoke. All jokes aside, the Basalt Delta Biome is incredibly dangerous with large amounts of lava and hostile mobs. Although the unclean air can’t kill you, it’s important to be geared up before entering this biome so you do not die from accidentally stepping in lava or mob attacks. Also, it might as well be mentioned that the terrain in this biome is quite jagged.

This Biome is the best biome to search for Magma Cream. If you don’t know already, Magma Cream comes from the dangerous mob called “Magma Cubes”. It is safe to say that Magma Cubes are far more dangerous versions of Slimes (in certain ways). Magma Cubes bounce just like a slime and multiply after being killed a couple times.

Lastly, you might also come across some Ruined Portals.
