Minecraft: Beetroot Uses, Farming, Crafting, & Breeding
In Minecraft, Beetroot has a couple of uses. Beetroots can be used as Food or a Dye Ingredient.
How to Get/Find Minecraft Beetroot Seeds
The best place to find Beetroot Seeds is by looking through Villages. The Beetroot will be located in the Crop Patches. They will grow besides other crops like potatoes, wheats, and carrots.
You are able to pick up any crops that the villagers plant. The crops you will find are usually just seeds that have been recently planted because Villagers will automatically harvest their fully grown crops. Beetroot has a 10% Spawn Rate in Village Crop Patches.

Additionally, you are able to find Beetroot Seeds in Chests at the following places:
- Dungeons
- Woodland Mansions
- End Cities
- Mineshafts
Lastly, you can get Beetroot Seeds by trading with Wandering Villagers. 15 Beetroot Seeds will cost 1 Emerald.
Growing & Farming Minecraft Beetroot
To grow Beetroot you will need an abundance of Beetroot Seeds and Tilled Farmland.
Once you have gotten everything prepared for farming, you can place your Beetroot Seeds in the Farmland.
Beetroot goes through 4 growth stages before being fully ready to harvest. Compared to other crops in Minecraft, Beetroot grows fast.
When you harvest your fully grown Beetroot Plant, you will get Beetroot and Beetroot Seeds in return.
Beetroot Seeds stack up to 64. You will get 0-3 Beetroot Seeds per Beetroot Plant Harvested. If you Harvest Beetroot using a Hoe Tool with the Best Enchantments, you’ll get more yield.
Crafting Minecraft Beetroot Soup
Eating a singular Beetroot will not replenish your Hunger that much in Minecraft. That is why you should consider making Beetroot Soup! Crafting Beetroot Soup to consume is superior because it will be higher in Saturation.
To craft Beetroot Soup, you’ll need 6 Beetroots and 1 Bowl.
Note: After Consuming Beetroot Soup you will still keep your Bowl.
Using Minecraft Beetroot to Breed
If you are wanting to Breed Villagers, setting up a Beetroot Farm for them would be perfect. The Villagers will need to consume 12 Beetroots to start Breeding.
You can also Breed Pigs using Beetroot. When you are nearby a pig, you can equip Beetroot and they will follow you.
Extra Information on Minecraft Beetroot
- Beetroot can be used to Craft Red Dye. Although this is true, Beetroot is NOT the only material that can be used to make Red Dye. There are several methods.
- When you place Beetroot into a composter, you can potentially raise the composter’s level
