Minecraft: Bow Enchantment Guide

by | Minecraft | 0 comments

The Minecraft Bow is a Ranged Weapon that can deal damage to Players or Mobs.

Something you can do to better your Bow is to place Enchantments on it. Enchantments will help give your Bow Weapon special Boosts.

It does not really matter which Bow you use your Enchantments on because there is only one type of Bow (a wooden Bow). There is a Crossbow but that is different Weapon that has different types of Enchantments. Most players prefer the regular bow over the crossbow.

All Enchantments for Minecraft Bow

Before diving deeper into each Enchantment it is good to know all the possible Enchantments you can add on a Minecraft Bow. Different Tools/Weapons can have a different set of Enchantments that are allowed to be used.

The Minecraft Bow Enchantments are…

  • Unbreaking III
  • Power V
  • Flame I
  • Punch II
  • Infinity I
  • Mending I

Note: Some of these Enchantments can be stacked. The number displays the Enchantment’s Maximum Level.

The Best Enchantments to put on Minecraft Bow

The Power Enchantment for a Bow is similar to the Sharpness Enchantment for a Sword. Power V will give your Bow a massive increase in damage. This Enchantment may be common but it is super useful!

The Unbreaking Enchantment is also an Enchantment you’ve likely heard of. This Enchantment will make the Bow tremendously more Durable. It is especially useful when you have an Infinity Bow because the Bow will have no Mending Enchantment.

Having the Punch Enchantment on your Bow will cause enemies to shoot back farther then they normally would. Adding this Enchantment is up to personal preference. Some players love Punch II because it causes Mobs to keep their distance. Other players prefer to shoot Mobs once and then run up while attacking with their sword. It’s all up to your liking.

Infinity I is a great Enchantment to have on your Bow. This Enchantment lets you reuse the same Arrow over and over again. You can shoot 1 Arrow an Infinite amount of times. You will be able to save resources by only using one Arrow. If you have Infinity I on your Bow you cannot have Mending I.

Something you might want to add onto your Bow is Mending I. This Enchantment will take the XP you gain and place it to the Bow’s Durability. This Enchantment is Mutually Exclusive to Infinity I, meaning you have to choose one or the other. An Infinity Bow would be better if you do not have the best aim but if you prefer Mending you can add that instead. Once again, choosing Mending I or Infinity I is up to personal preference. Whatever works best for you!

The Flame Enchantment for your Bow is helpful in numerous ways. A Flame Bow will cause a Fire Arrow to be shot rather than a normal Arrow. When shooting a Mob like a Chicken, you will get Cooked Chicken instead of Raw Chicken and this can be convenient. If you need to light TNT from far away, using a Bow with Flame I will do the trick. During the Night it is also nice to have a Bow with the Flame Enchantment. To top it all off, having Flame I will cause your Bow to deal more damage as well!
