Minecraft: Shovel Enchantment Guide
The Minecraft Shovel is specifically used to help Mine certain kinds of Blocks. For example, when gathering Sand, Gravel, and Dirt in Bulk, a Shovel would be quite handy. Sometimes, you’d rather use a shovel over a pickaxe because a shovel works faster for some types of Blocks (as stated).
Before Adding Enchantments onto your Shovel Tool, you would most likely want to use your best Shovel. Since it takes time getting Enchantment Books, use your Enchantments wisely. The best Shovel in the game is the Netherite Shovel, but if you do not have that Shovel it is okay to use whatever one you want.
If you do not know already, Enchantments for a Shovel will help boost certain aspects of the Tool. Placing Enchantments will help tremendously.
All Enchantments for Minecraft Shovel Tool
Before diving deeper into each Enchantment it is good to know all the possible Enchantments you can add on a Minecraft Shovel. Different tools/weapons can have a different set of Enchantments that are allowed to be used.
The Enchantments you can possibly use on a Minecraft Shovel are…
- Efficiency V
- Fortune III
- Unbreaking III
- Mending I
- Silk Touch I
Note: You are able to stack certain Enchantments.
The Best Enchantments to put on a Minecraft Shovel Tool
To start off, Efficiency V is a must-have for your Shovel. If you thought your shovel mined quickly before, just wait until you put on the Efficiency Enchantment. Of course you can use any Efficiency Enchantment you have but Efficiency V is the best one. Many players would say this is the most important Enchantment to place on your Minecraft Shovel Tool.
The Fortune III Enchantment isn’t the most useful Enchantment to place on your Shovel unless you are using your Shovel for Gravel. If you are trying to get Flint from Gravel the Fortune III Enchantment is amazing. Other from that, you will not need Fortune III. Substituting Fortune III for Fortune II or Fortune I works as well but Fortune III is the best Fortune Enchantment.
Unbreaking III is a great Enchantment to place on all your tools including your Shovel. This Enchantment is straightforward, it just increases your tool’s durability. Tools can break quite fast but when the Unbreaking Enchantment is placed on, tools last far longer. A Shovel can benefit a lot from having Unbreaking III. You may use Unbreaking I or Unbreaking II if you do not have Unbreaking III.
Something that would be great to add on your Shovel is Mending I. This Enchantment takes the XP you gain and places it to the Shovel’s Durability, mending the Shovel. Some players love Mending but others do not, so it is really up to your preference if you want to place Mending on your Shovel Tool.
Silk Touch I is probably something you should not consider putting on your Shovel. This Enchantment is mutually exclusive with Fortune III so you can only have one or the other. There are probably close to no cases that you would need Silk Touch I on your Shovel.
